Have You Checked Your Blood Pressure?

The last few nights at CFUM.org’s Supper Club I’ve received extra hugs from my little buddy, let’s call her Annie, who often makes the best days better, and any tough days bearable, with her hugs. Then she asked me, very seriously, have you checked your blood pressure? Annie is 7, but she knows my sweet wife Bonnie donated her kidney to me 13 years ago on Valentine’s Day and saved my life. ​what an incredible gift of love! Annie knows all about this, because her sweet mom, who included all the CFUM kids when we celebrated Annie’s Birthday, with cupcakes and prizes and more, and packs her a very special lunch with love every day, is going through dialysis, kidney failure, due to high blood pressure.

I have no doubt Annie is very shaken up and concerned about her mom, and unsure about her future, and it seems she loves me and wants to keep me around too. 

Annie is one of the resilient beautiful souls K-5 we are honored to serve at CFUM and watch and assist them in becoming wonderful bright even more gifted teenagers and eventual adults. 

We do our best in providing what they need but receive so much more back.  You are a huge part of this!! We could not do this or be there for these precious children without your generous partnership. ​
