CFUM Supper Club –

Where everyone knows your name 🙂

I hope you can stop by our Supper Club at 8th and College in Des Moines sometime to experience the overwhelming welcome and Camaraderie at CFUM Supper Club from 4 to 5 PM.

If you were here last week you might have seen a wonderful group of volunteers serving the best pizza with salad ever only to see a struggling young man answer his phone, then jump up and run outside and return soon and exclaim, “I got a job!” Turns out at the same manufacturing company, DeeZee Manufacturing, the very place the man who provided and served the Pizza for tonight’s meal!

Or you might see me head outside to babysit a man’s 80 lb pit bull so he can enjoy supper only to have the pit bull jump up on my lap to give me a big hug when his owner returned after enjoying his meal in peace.

You might see Darlena, recognize a handsome young strongly built man fresh out of Prison, provide him with a big welcome home, clothes and resources with the caring and insight only a loving mom can provide.

Or, have one of our regulars, I’ll call him Dom, tell you he just received 2 jobs, one at the shelter he is living in and another job at a restaurant 15 miles away, so he follows you to the next gas station to fill up and get off to a solid start in his new life.

All of this along with seeing some of the sweetest most beautiful precious children full of smiles, love and thanks for the tremendous provision of a free supper and food to take home. Thanks to your support, we do good work.
